The Spark
Why insurance?
Out of all the career paths, what made you choose insurance and start Alia Insurance Brokers?
I chose insurance because I saw that people often think about it only when something goes wrong. I wanted to change that mindset. Insurance is really about protecting the things people work hard to build—whether it’s their family, health, business, or assets.
At Alia, our goal is not simply to sell policies. It is to understand our clients, identify their risks, and give them the right protection with confidence and clarity.

The Translator
Making insurance simple
Insurance terms can be confusing. How do you explain a policy to a client so it feels simple, clear, and easy to understand?
I always say, “If you can’t explain it simply, you probably haven’t understood it well enough.”
Insurance can have a lot of technical language, but the client shouldn’t have to become an insurance expert. I focus on explaining what is covered, what is not covered, the important conditions, and most importantly, how the policy will actually help them when they need it.
The Takeaway
Anna proves that incredible catering is all about convenience, aesthetics, and incredible flavor in bite-sized packages. My promise to you is that after reading her story, you’ll look at your next event’s menu through a whole new lens, where a single bite can set the mood for the entire room.

The Best Feeling
A claim well handled
What is the best part of stepping in when a client has a problem and getting everything sorted out for them?
For me, that is one of the most rewarding parts of the business. When a client calls during a difficult situation, they don’t just need an insurance policy—they need someone who will stand beside them.
When we help resolve a claim smoothly, the biggest satisfaction is hearing the client say, “Thank you, you were there when we needed you.” That is when you know you have built something more valuable than a transaction—you have built trust.

The Right Fit
Finding what people actually need
Every person and business is different. How do you help someone pick the right cover without buying things they do not need?
We start with the client, not the product.
Every individual and business has different risks, financial priorities, and responsibilities. We first understand what they are trying to protect, assess their exposure, and then recommend coverage that makes sense for them.
I believe good insurance advice is not about selling the most insurance. It is about finding the right insurance.

The Eye for Detail
The fine print that matters
What is the most common thing people overlook in a policy document that you always make sure to double-check for them?
Most people focus on the premium and the headline coverage, but the real story is often in the details—exclusions, limits, deductibles, conditions, and what is actually covered when a claim happens.
That is why we encourage clients to look beyond the price. A cheaper policy is not necessarily better if it doesn’t respond when you need it most.

The Trusted Advisor
More than just a policy renewal
What is your secret to building long-term trust so clients always feel comfortable coming to you for advice?
For me, it comes down to three things: listen, be honest, and be available.
Insurance shouldn’t be a relationship that starts at renewal and ends after payment. We want our clients to feel comfortable calling us whenever they have a question, a new business requirement, a change in circumstances, or simply need advice.
Our long-term vision at Alia is to be seen not just as an insurance broker, but as a trusted risk advisor and partner.
